Driver recognition helps flag unauthorised use. A compatible immobiliser adds authorisation before starting. No individual measure guarantees that a vehicle cannot be stolen or that it will be recovered.
Start with your everyday security
- Check that the vehicle has locked, and close its windows when leaving it.
- Keep keys, including spare keys, away from easy access.
- For keyless vehicles, consider a signal-blocking pouch and regularly check that it still blocks the key signal.
- Consider a suitable security-rated steering-wheel, pedal or gear lock.
- Choose a suitable parking location and avoid leaving valuables visible.

Our S5 Plus describes an S5 package with added immobilisation; it is not a separate Thatcham certification category. For EVs and hybrids, our dedicated package uses PIN-operated start protection. Suitability must be checked for your exact vehicle.

Read the security condition on your insurance schedule before choosing. Confirm any named model, fitting arrangement, monitoring condition or activation deadline. If it specifies S5, S7 is not a substitute. Do not assume that adding an immobiliser to S7 creates S5 certification.

Budget for fitting and ongoing monitoring
Our standard fitted S7, S5 and S5 Plus packages include professional installation. Monitoring is separate at £10.99/month. Standalone immobilisers and dashcam service plans are different products with their own inclusions.
Use the current fitted-price and monitoring table for your budget. With monthly monitoring, the first month paid at checkout is part of the service cost, not an additional thirteenth month.
Provide your vehicle, fitting postcode and preferred dates. We confirm the appointment, install and test the system, and complete activation. The digital certificate for a fitted tracker is issued after installation and commissioning. Read how fitting and handover work.
Questions before choosing car security
Does a tracker prevent the car from starting?
A location tracker alone is not start prevention. Our standard S5 Plus adds tag-operated immobilisation; confirm the features of the exact product you choose.
Will a tracker reduce my insurance premium?
A discount is not guaranteed. The tracker may be a policy requirement. Ask your insurer what applies to your vehicle and chosen device.
Do I need a second tracker if one is already fitted?
First identify the existing device, provider and active service. Check transfer arrangements and insurer acceptance before buying another.
What if my vehicle is stolen?
Follow the monitoring provider’s theft-reporting instructions and report the theft to police. Keep contact information current and do not attempt to confront thieves yourself.
