How much does a fitted Thatcham tracker cost?
Our standard wired S7 costs £169, S5 costs £349 and S5 Plus costs £449, each including professional installation. Monitoring is separate at £10.99 per month. With twelve monthly monitoring payments, the first-year totals are £300.88, £480.88 and £580.88 respectively, before optional extras.
Prices checked: 30 September 2026. These figures cover the three standard wired packages below. Battery self-fit, EV/hybrid and Sleeper packages have their own specifications and prices. Check the product listing and selected options for the current total.

S7 or S5: the same monthly monitoring fee
Our monthly monitoring is £10.99 for S7, S5 and S5 Plus. Choosing S5 instead of S7 does not increase our monthly fee; the upfront equipment/package price changes. Monitoring is charged separately from the tracker purchase.
Some providers charge different monthly fees by category. ScorpionTrack’s published subscriptions, checked 30 September 2026, list S7 ALS at £12.49/month, S5 at £13.49/month and S5+ at £16.99/month. Our monthly monitoring is £10.99 for each of S7, S5 and S5 Plus. This compares monthly monitoring charges only, not hardware, features, prepaid plans or contract terms; offers can change.
How are these totals calculated?
First-year total = device and fitting price + (12 × £10.99). On the monthly option, the first monitoring month is paid at checkout and subsequent payments are set up separately. That first month is one of the twelve payments, not an extra thirteenth month. For example, S5 is £349 + £131.88 = £480.88 for the first year.
Professional fitting is included for these standard packages, subject to vehicle compatibility, postcode coverage and appointment confirmation. Extra tags, optional equipment and specialist packages can change the total. For payment schedules and conditions, check the selected product options and subscription terms.
What do S7, S5 and S5 Plus include?
- S7: real-time location tracking, theft alerts and 24/7 monitored recovery support.
- S5: tracking and monitoring with Automatic Driver Recognition. A missing driver tag supports an unauthorised-use alert; recognition alone does not prevent starting.
- Standard S5 Plus: S5 tracking and driver recognition with tag-operated No Tag, No Start immobilisation.
Compare the full tracker range and specifications. The dedicated EV/hybrid package uses vehicle-button PIN authorisation, so check the exact package rather than assuming every S5 Plus system works in the same way.

Is this the cheapest S5 tracker?
Our standard S5 is £349 fitted plus monitoring. We do not claim it is the cheapest offer across the entire market. Compare like-for-like costs: device, professional fitting, monitoring for the same period, optional tags, terms and the exact model your insurer accepts. An S7 price is not an equivalent comparison if your policy requires S5.
When will I receive my certificate?
Your digital certificate is issued immediately once installation and commissioning are complete. Read our installation and certification process for booking, checks and handover.
Does fitting a tracker reduce insurance premiums?
Some insurers offer savings for approved devices. Comfort Insurance describes a 5% motorhome discount for Aviva-approved tracking devices. Caravan Guard describes a 25% motorhome discount for devices it approves, with a maximum security-device discount of 25%. These are specific motorhome examples, not guaranteed savings for cars or every S7/S5 device. Ask your insurer to confirm eligibility, the exact device and your quoted premium before buying.
